Dion is the only artist from the 1950’s who has remained creative and relevant over all these decades. inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame with The Rolling Stones in 1989, and is one of only two artists (Bob Dylan) to be on the cover of The Beatles Classic—Sgt. Pepper’s. In 1958 he had three top-forty hits. In 2008 he was nominated for a Grammy. In 2020, his album Blues with Friends, joined by Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons and many other rock luminaries. In the ’50s he was known as one of a handful of innovators who defined rock ‘n’ roll and that’s still very much the case. Today over 2 million people stream his records on Spotify every month and 50 million followers view his videos on YouTube. He has toured the world many times over! As the lead singer of Dion and the Belmonts in the late 1950s, Dion captured the heart of America with chart-toppers like “Runaround Sue”, “The Wanderer”, and “A Teenager in Love.” His later solo success with the profound “Abraham, Martin, and John” in 1968 marked another high, contributing to his twelve gold records. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Dion explored folk, blues, and gospel, earning a Grammy nomination in 1985 and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 alongside icons like the Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder.
